what to do with 3073?

A small update.
Stonej and f found that fool stands for 6001 in the octal numeral base and that would make it 3073 in decimal. I think that's the correct answer to the king Charles riddle, because when you open that page, /3073 there is a different page not found message than before.

This might indeed be an answer to a riddle.
However, still not all of the answers
lie were they seem.
The internet is vast.

This doesn’t look like some new riddle but a pointer as where to use that number we found. Something else I found is that if you look at the properties of the picture, it is named “database”
It probably is another clue but I really can’t think of anything it has to do with the riddle itself…

I’ll let you know if I have any ideas about what to do with the number 3073

house bill 3073, the "fathers count" act of 1999, concerns a federal database to track people who owe student loans, child support, et cetera.

Ok, my game is over - took a look at it. Could only find that 3073 is a communication port - nothing I know anything about, but doing a search on google, one security site said it was for a chat room:

3073 Very simple chatroom prot tcp/udp

I've tried using that number at Myspace, Flickr, different blogs, and of cours IMDB. None of those seem to lead anywhere so far. Anyone else having any luck?

I've tried the same places. Also when I google "court database" using the 2 hints so far, I get findlaw and 3073 is a statue for "protection of identity" which is cool, but doesn't help find where to place the number so I think its a coincidence.

Ok if you look on Wikipedia at Emanuel Swedenborg's new arithmetic which changes at the Number 8 - then the numbers 1-10 are there denoted by the consonants l, s, n, m, t, f, u (v) and zero by the vowel o.

This would make "Fool" = 6001 - at least that is what I get it.

burnt orange sleuth, if you look at the comments under the "Introductions" post, you'll see that f posted this:

stonej,
I should have read the octal page. That sounds right.
The fool would be 6001 in octal which is 3073 in decimal. What would we do with this number though? "

It explains how we got from 6001 to 3073. But that was a great observation you made, keep up the good work. :-) Hopefully we'll figure out where the 3073 belongs.

OK, I may have something here, problem is I can't read it - need help from other people. There is a brand new database on King Charles XII and maps. I have 2 links - if someone can read it perhaps you can put in 3073.

1st link about the database:
http://liber.library.uu.nl/publish/articles/000009/index.html

The database is supposed to be accessable at this website, but I cannot read it:

Having trouble posting. The first link - make sure you put .html after it or it will not work.

Hey, V. Have you come up with anything else on your end? I've done hours of searching online, and I can't seem to come up with anything at all.

I've even run into the database to which d. refers, and I found nothing relevant. I hope you've got something you haven't posted yet, 'cause I'm stumped.

Since Max won't open those majectic curtains in that penthouse of his, I hope he has a huge supply of lightbulbs. ;-)

Vjails, you having any better luck with this?

So if King Charles XII was the fool (instead of the jester on his court), how does that change anything here?

I noticed while reading about him online that some people consider the King himself the fool. From one forum discussing the King I found this:

"Was he a fool who lead Sweden into decline or one of the Great men of history???"
